The Trail takes place on Sunday 21 June 2026 and supports the charity One Mother to Another. This popular Christchurch winter event is a self-drive tour of beautifully decorated homes filled with festive displays and seasonal inspiration.

Celebrate the spirit of Christmas – in the heart of winter
Embrace the charm of the season with the Zonta Town and Country Winter Christmas Trail 2026 – an elegant journey through a curated collection of the most beautiful homes and countryside properties, from elegant city residences to charming country retreats.
Be welcomed into warm, light-filled interiors where every detail has been thoughtfully styled for the season. Wander through rooms glowing with candlelight, discover a magical Christmas Grotto, admire a rare antique sleigh, and enjoy the sounds and scents of Christmas – from carols to festive baking.
A truly special day out, especially when shared – carpool with friends and family and have a wonderful day out together.
Collect one of our famous Goodie Bags at one of the houses – these are filled with delightful treats. One bag per person.

- Collect your Programme Booklets from The Christmas Hut at 39 Sawyers Arms Road from 18th – 21st June as per instructions on your receipt. This gives you the locations of all the properties and which property you must start from.
- Plan your route
- Enjoy the self-drive Trail at your own pace.
- It’s entirely optional but for even more fun you can dress in your favourite Christmas outfit, in past years this has added extra colour and gaiety to the day.
Special highlight – Melton Estate
Home to the Christmas Grotto and Marketplace, Melton Estate is a must-visit stop on the Winter Christmas Trail.
Coffee and snacks and wine tasting will be on sale throughout the day, with a fabulous lunch offering also available (pre-booking essential) at https://www.meltonestate.co.nz/book
