It was such an honor for our Immediate Club President Deb Platt to accept this award at the 66th Zonta Convention in Brisbane on behalf of Christchurch-Canterbury, Christchurch South and Christchurch North Clubs Dragon Boating Team. The award was for their initiative in getting together to raise awareness for Zonta Says No to Violence against Women. Initiated by Immediate Past President Marie Kyle-Stevenson in 2023, was then extended to the other clubs in the area to make up a team of 17. Members joined with such great enthusiasm and they went on to compete for the first season. The exposure and support received for Zonta from the Dragon Boating World was extraordinary. The dedication of these woman in the spirit of Zonta make this award well deserved. Congratulations to all, and to the clubs for their support.
